Our most durable waterproof mountaineering jacket

This iconic shell jacket is made for demanding alpine climbing but works perfectly for all-season mountaineering adventures, including trekking and ski touring. Dating back to Europe’s first Gore-Tex® jacket in 1977, it is a staple within mountaineering equipment.

It is made in premium GORE-TEX® PRO fabric, and we use this because it’s the world-leading quality for durable waterproofness (28,000mm), optimized breathability, and total windproofness.

The main fabric is a 3-layer 70Dx160D GORE-TEX® PRO most breathable (RET 6-9) with a 100% recycled nylon face. This quality provides excellent breathability (RET 6) while still offering world-class long-lasting protective durability.

Key features include a storm hood fitted for a climbing helmet with one-hand adjustment, asymmetric cuffs with Velcro® adjustments, two-way under-arm ventilation, strategically placed napoleon pockets to avoid interference with harness and backpack, reflective details, an adjustment cord in the waistline to trap air, and a two way front zip for flexible ventilation.

The jacket has a technical fit with a Y-cut and articulated arms for good movement while climbing. And a longer cut in the back for extra protection.
